The Mendrisiotto region boasts a rich and varied natural heritage, comprising landscapes, ecosystems and biodiversity that deserve to be discovered and celebrated. To mark the 75th anniversary of Argor-Heraeus, the company has chosen to celebrate this milestone with an initiative focused on the local area and the people who live there: the competition “Argor-Heraeus and the biodiversity of Mendrisiotto”, organised in collaboration with 3Bee, an organisation dedicated to the protection of biodiversity.
Founded in 1951 and based in Mendrisio, Switzerland, Argor-Heraeus is the leading refinery in the Canton of Ticino and today stands as a benchmark in the precious metals sector. Its long-standing presence in the region has helped forge a strong bond with the local community, extending beyond industrial activity to a constant focus on the environment, biodiversity and the community.
Through an online quiz dedicated to the biodiversity of the Mendrisiotto, developed in collaboration with 3Bee, the competition invites the public to explore the characteristics of the area in a simple and accessible way, stimulating curiosity and knowledge. An opportunity to observe the environment around us with greater awareness and reflect on the value of local ecosystems.
The competition also offers the chance to take part in guided experiences in the area. The top winners will have the opportunity to visit the Argor-Heraeus refinery in Mendrisio and take part in a guided tour of the Valle della Motta Park, whilst other selected participants will join the park tour accompanied by expert guides. A tangible way to experience the area, connecting nature, landscape and industrial activity.
The competition runs from 1 to 30 June 2026 (inclusive).
